Beyoncé is an American R&B singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and model. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she enrolled in various performing arts schools, and was first exposed to singing and dancing competitions as a child. Knowles rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of the girl group Destiny’s Child. Knowles has sold more than 50 million records worldwide with the group.

During the hiatus of Destiny’s Child, Knowles released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, in June 2003. Dangerously in Love spawned the hits “Crazy in Love”, “Baby Boy”, “Me, Myself and I”, and “Naughty Girl”. The album became one of the most-successful albums of that year. It earned Knowles five Grammy Awards in 2004, and its reception signaled her viability as a solo artist. The disbandment of Destiny’s Child in 2005 facilitated her continued success: she released her second solo album, B’Day, in 2006, which contained the hits “Deja Vu”, “Irreplaceable”, and “Beautiful Liar”. Her third solo album, I Am… Sasha Fierce, was released in November 2008, and inlcuded the hits “If I Were a Boy”, “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”, and “Halo”. Knowles has attained five Hot 100 number one singles, tying with Rihanna as the female artist with the most number ones attained within the 2000-2009 decade. She is also the female artist with the most top tens and the most top fives on the Hot 100 this decade with twelve top ten hits.

The success of her solo albums has established Knowles as one of the most marketable artists in the music industry, and she has expanded her career to acting and product endorsement. She began her acting career in 2001, appearing in the musical film Carmen: A Hip Hopera. In 2006, she starred in the lead role in the film adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical Dreamgirls, for which she earned two Golden Globe nominations. Knowles launched her family’s fashion line, House of Deréon, in 2004, and has been engaged to endorse such brands as Pepsi, Tommy Hilfiger, and L’Oréal.

Alecia Beth Moore, who performs under the stage name Pink, or P!nk, is an American actress and singer-songwriter. To date she has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Pink released her first single “There You Go” and first album, the R&B-oriented Can’t Take Me Home, in 2000 via LaFace Records, which garnered commercial success.

Her more pop rock-oriented second studio album, Missundaztood, was released in 2001. Her fifth album, Funhouse was released in late October 2008 and was preceded by her first solo number one on the Hot 100, “So What”.Since its release in October, Funhouse has been certified platinum in the U.S. and sold over 3.5 million worldwide.The second single from the album, “Sober” has also become a U.S. Top 20 hit, peaking at number 15 on the Hot 100 making Funhouse Pink’s first album since Missundaztood to have its first two successive singles peak in the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Miley Ray Cyrus(born Destiny Hope Cyrus is an American singer, actress, and author. Cyrus is better known for starring as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana.

Following the success of the show, in October 2006, a soundtrack CD was released in which she sang eight songs from the show. Cyrus’ solo music career began with the release of her debut album, Meet Miley Cyrus on June 23, 2007. Her second album, Breakout, was released on July 22, 2008. Breakout is Cyrus’ first album that does not involve the Hannah Montana franchise. Both albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. In 2008 she released her Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert film.

She also starred in Bolt in 2008, and recorded “I Thought I Lost You” for the soundtrack for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination. She starred in the movie spin-off of Hannah Montana, titled Hannah Montana: The Movie which was released on April 10, 2009. In addition, she has recorded the main single, “The Climb”, for the movie soundtrack.  In 2008, Cyrus was listed in Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in The World. Forbes magazine ranked her #35 on “The Celebrity 100″ list with earnings of over US$25 million in 2008.

Stacy Ann Ferguson, better known by her stage name Fergie, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, fashion designer, model, and actress. She was a member of the kids’ television series Kids Incorporated, and the girl group Wild Orchid. Ferguson was also a co-host of the television show Great Pretenders. She is a vocalist for the hip hop/pop group the Black Eyed Peas, as well as a solo artist, having released her debut album, The Dutchess, in September 2006. The album spawned five Billboard Hot 100 top 5 singles (three of which went to number one) making The Dutchess the seventh album from a female artist to spawn five Top 5 hits.
